ANNAPOLIS COUNTY, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwired - Aug. 25, 2014) -
Thanks to federal investments, families and residents in Annapolis County have access to a new connector trail providing shortcuts and easier access between the Lorcon and Orchard Drive subdivisions in Nictaux. The new Scotney Pathway greatly increases pedestrian and cyclist safety by helping to keep pedestrians and cyclists off the roads and highways. It also provides a better route for walking and biking to the Town of Middleton.
The new pathway is five feet wide and 430 meters long. It is accessible to people facing mobility challenges. It is wheelchair-friendly, and provides easy access to most users, including families with strollers, or people on scooters and bicycles.
The pathway was developed on properties owned by the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, the County of Annapolis, and land that was donated by Mr. Terry Scotney.
