National Water Safety Month Marks the Start of Summer Swim Season

Big Blue Swim School is honoring National Water Safety Month, sharing the top tips parents and caregivers should follow for a fun, safe, and confident summer by the water. Sadly, drowning remains a leading cause of death for children under 14. However, drowning is preventable by following simple safety measures.

Big Blue Swim School shares water safety tips, which are easily remembered by the SAFER acronym:

"Swimming is a fun rite of passage and a vital life skill for everyone, but proper steps need to be taken to ensure everyone stays safe," says Chris DeJong, Founder and President of Big Blue Swim School. "We hope National Water Safety Month serves as everyone's reminder to follow water safety protocols, but also to sign up for swim lessons, which allow families to be confident and safe around the water."

Big Blue Swim School is sharing its National Water Safety Month video with families across the country and asks parents and caregivers to pass it along to their friends and family this May. The video can be viewed on Big Blue Swim School's YouTube page.
