Advanced Nuclear Industry Innovator, Mark Mitchell, Joins Valar Atomics as Chief Nuclear Officer

Valar Atomics bolsters its executive ranks with the addition of Mark Mitchell as Chief Nuclear Officer. In this role, Mark will oversee and support all nuclear operations at Valar Atomics, including licensing and regulatory compliance efforts, reactor and powerplant manufacturing planning, and management of client support operations and fleet services.

With more than two decades of experience in project and product development in the advanced nuclear energy sector, Mark is uniquely qualified to manage critical programs and projects at Valar Atomics. His unparalleled experience in planning, budgeting, navigating licensing processes, and developing nuclear reactors and associated infrastructure will be invaluable to the company.

"Mark's decades of wisdom and experience immediately compound the unique capabilities of our team and put us in the optimal position to pursue our mission of abundance through atomic energy," said Isaiah Taylor, CEO of Valar Atomics. "Since our founding, I've had the opportunity to get to know the top leaders around the world in nuclear energy. Mark stood out to me from the first as a uniquely capable, respected, and dynamic nuclear leader."

Mark's rich experience includes establishing all aspects of the Ultra Safe Nuclear (USNC) Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) program. Mark, who started his nuclear journey at the South African Pebble Bed Modular Reactor company, has a long history of working in nuclear innovation, as well as powerful experience in renewables and fueled power-generation technologies.

"The approach Valar is taking is unique, marrying exceptional technology with an economical approach that will resonate in the market," said Mitchell. "Innovation and a strategic approach to the business are exactly what is needed at this moment as entities around the globe search for fiscally viable, zero-carbon energy solutions."
