PowerSchool Unveils Contextual AI Solutions to Reduce Teacher Workloads and Accelerate Student Learning

PowerSchool (NYSE: PWSC), the leading provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education in North America, announced today the general availability of the first two PowerSchool PowerBuddytm products designed for teachers: PowerBuddy for Learning and PowerBuddy for Assessment. Founded on PowerSchool's Responsible AI principles and piloted by school districts representing over 1.5 million students, these Conversational AI assistants provide support for teachers to enable personalized education in a way never experienced before.

"With PowerBuddy as their safe and secure digital assistant, educators for the first time gain superpowers, merging practical efficiency, scalable personalized instruction, and prioritized student engagement ? a remarkable milestone as we welcome a new era of education," said Shivani Stumpf, Chief Product and Innovation Officer at PowerSchool. "By integrating AI into Schoology and Performance Matters - platforms widely trusted by millions of educators daily - teachers can save hundreds of hours generating student assessments and assignments, all without needing to master a new learning curve, or manually transfer data between disconnected standalone solutions. Bringing AI to teachers' existing workflows significantly eases the district's change management responsibilities, while concurrently addressing teacher burnout, and tailoring instruction to meet the unique needs of each student ? unlike any other solution."

PowerBuddy is an AI-powered assistant for everyone in education and is designed to deliver adaptable, individualized experiences for educators, students, administrators, and parents. PowerBuddy is being integrated across PowerSchool's family of products leveraging Microsoft's Azure OpenAI Services technology.

PowerBuddy benefits teachers through these PowerSchool products:

"I love the way my teachers would be able to use PowerBuddy to create lessons and assessments that are more personalized for those students and will have additional resources beyond what they are given from their teachers," said Kimberly Nidy, educator at North Canton City School District in Ohio. "PowerBuddy has the potential to make learning truly ubiquitous and engaging."

These new PowerBuddy products are now available for purchase and will be joined later by PowerBuddy for Data Analysis, Content, Custom AI, College & Career, Engagement, and Coaching & Mentoring. These additional PowerBuddy products are already being piloted as part of PowerSchool's AI platform expansion and will be available for the 2024-2025 school year.
