2024 Oncology Nurse Advisor Summit Shatters Attendance Records


Over 2,200 attendees enriched their knowledge in disease-specific and supportive care topics during the 9th Annual Oncology Nurse Advisor (ONA) Summit, which occurred from March 21-24, 2024. The live virtual conference was presented by Oncology Nurse Advisor?the Haymarket Medical Network (HMN) online and print resource for the oncology nurse community?with accreditation provided by Haymarket Medical Education (HME) in joint providership with the National Association for Continuing Education (NACE) and in association with Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Themed Real Nurses, Real Solutions: Breakthrough Strategies in Oncology Nursing Practice, the Summit offered 4 days of real-world solutions for oncology nurses in all roles and included the opportunity to earn up to 23.25 ANCC or AANP contact hours (including 10.50 pharmacology hours).

Renowned nursing faculty presented state-of-the-science practice strategies, on topics including HR+/HER- Breast Cancer, Skin Cancers, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, EGFR+ NSCLC, Advanced Gynecologic Cancers, CAR-T Therapies, and Immune-Related Adverse Events, which provided skills that could immediately be applied in oncology practice. Attendees had the opportunity to optimize their educational experience with real-time interactive Q&A with faculty after each session, as well as live virtual chats with their peers.

New to the 2024 Summit was a one-day pre-conference Hematology Intensive on March 21 titled, What's Blood Got to Do With It? This program provided over 1,400 attendees with a deep dive into malignant hematology disorders, from the origins of hematopoietic cell line cancers to effective diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and management. Also new to the Summit was the Real Solutions Virtual Poster Gallery, which presented real-life, innovative strategies and quality improvement solutions submitted by oncology nurses, which were selected for the Summit through a blind review by ONA Summit course directors. This year's Summit was also proud to announce the program content had been reviewed by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and was acceptable for recertification points in specific subject areas identified for each session.
