Gatewood Capital Partners Announces Promotions


Gatewood Capital Partners LLC ("Gatewood"), a premier private equity firm focused on seeding and anchoring emerging managers, today announced promotions and expanded roles of its team.

Robert Zassman has been promoted to Principal. Mr. Zassman focuses on investment origination, due diligence and portfolio management at Gatewood. Before joining Gatewood in 2021, Mr. Zassman held several positions at Blackstone Inc., most recently as a member of the Blackstone Strategic Capital Group's investment team, focused on GP stakes investments. Before Blackstone, Mr. Zassman was in the asset management group at EY. Mr. Zassman graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Andrew Coren has been appointed to Gatewood's Investment Committee. Mr. Coren is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, leading the firm's operations, finance and compliance. Prior to joining Gatewood in 2018, Mr. Coren was a Director at Duff & Phelps (now Kroll) in their Alternative Asset Advisory practice. Previously, he was a Vice President at CCMP Capital Advisors, a middle-market buyout and growth equity investor, and began his career as an Analyst at JPMorgan Chase. Mr. Coren graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Economics and Computing and Information Science.

Michelle Jacobi's role has been expanded to include leading business development for Gatewood. Ms. Jacobi is a Managing Director focused on origination, marketing and fundraising, in addition to her new responsibilities. Prior to joining Gatewood in 2020, she led Cebile Capital's North American distribution and fundraising for lower mid-market and emerging managers. Before Cebile, Ms. Jacobi held roles at VCP Securities, Jeffries and Mizuho Bank. Ms. Jacobi graduated from the London School of Economics with an LLB in Law and a MSc in Comparative Political Science.
