Kodiak Establishes Industry Advisory Council, Taps Leaders from Walmart, UPS, and Beyond to Help Guide Development and Deployment of Autonomous Trucks


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 27, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Kodiak Robotics, Inc., a leading autonomous transportation company building technology for the trucking and defense industries, today announced the launch of its Kodiak Industry Advisory Council. Kodiak's Industry Advisory Council brings together a diverse array of forward-thinking industry leaders to help shape the company's product development, deployment, and public engagement as it focuses on the commercialization of autonomous trucks. Inaugural members of the Kodiak Industry Advisory Council represent prestigious brands and organizations including the Arkansas Trucking Association, Loadsmith, Walmart, Werner Enterprises, and UPS.

The committee is chaired by former Kodiak Chief Operating Officer and current strategic advisor and board member, James Reed. Reed is also Vice President of Transportation Development, Walmart. His career has been split in nearly equal parts between Silicon Valley and transportation. He began his career at Intel and then spent time as a finance executive at T-Mobile, J.P. Morgan Chase, and EMC. Reed was CEO of USA Truck where he led the turnaround and sale of the company to DB Schenker. Reed serves or has served on the boards of USA Truck, Moatable, Loram Maintenance of Way, Montgomery Transport, and Truck Parking Systems. He is also the founding leader of the American Trucking Association's DE&I subcommittee.
