Jonathan M. Goldman and Kenneth R. Nieberding Promoted to the Role of Divisional President within Great American Insurance Group


Great American Insurance Group is pleased to announce the promotions of Jonathan (Jon) M. Goldman and Kenneth (Ken) R. Nieberding to the role of Divisional President, effective July 1, 2024. Mr. Goldman will lead Strategic Comp, and Mr. Nieberding will oversee Great American Risk Solutions.

Mr. Goldman joined Great American Insurance Group in 2005 as an intern. Upon graduation from college, he joined LEAD, the company's leadership development program, where he worked for the company's Finance Division and Republic Indemnity subsidiary. In 2013, Mr. Goldman joined Strategic Comp as a worker's compensation underwriter, and since that time has held roles of increasing responsibility. He most recently served as Divisional Senior Vice President, overseeing underwriting and field operations. Mr. Goldman succeeds Mr. Jason Cohen in the Divisional President role. Mr. Cohen, who was named a Senior Vice President for the Property & Casualty Group in February 2022, will continue to serve as a Reporting Officer for the organization.

Mr. Goldman earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of Cincinnati. He also holds the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and the Associate in Reinsurance (ARE) professional designations.

Mr. Nieberding began his career at Great American Insurance Group in 1998 as an underwriter for the Property & Casualty Group National Accounts Division. Since that time, he has worked in numerous property & casualty divisions. In 2017, Mr. Nieberding played a key role in the merger of the former American Empire Surplus Lines Insurance Company subsidiary and the Specialty E&S Division, which combined to form Great American Risk Solutions. As a senior leader within Great American Risk Solutions, Mr. Nieberding has primarily served as chief underwriting officer, and he also oversees the division's actuarial practice. In his new role, Mr. Nieberding will report to his predecessor Brian DeSoto, who was promoted to a Divisional Group President for the Property & Casualty Group in January 2023.

Mr. Nieberding earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Miami University and a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University.
