Gateway Loan Originators Named Top Producers by The Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation

Each year, The Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) recognizes three Texas loan officers who helped the most families purchase a home through the TSAHC program. This year, two Gateway Loan Originators (LO), Josh Allyn and Jake West, were presented with the Top Producing LO award for 2023 volume.

According to a statement by TSAHC, "With more than 2,970 loan officers originating at least one TSAHC loan in 2023, this is an extraordinary accomplishment. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of a network of dedicated loan officers and mortgage companies, TSAHC helped 11,219 households purchase a home in 2023."

In 2023, Allyn assisted 51 home buyers, originating more than $12.3 million in mortgage loans through the TSAHC program. This is the fifth year Allyn has been recognized as a top three TSAHC loan officer. With more than 15 years of experience in the mortgage industry, he is based in Houston and serves home buyers statewide.

"My goal is to help others achieve the "American Dream" of homeownership. I believe that owning a home is a key ingredient to improving one's quality of life, not just for themselves but for the local community as well," said Allyn.

West assisted 50 home buyers in 2023, originating more than $11.9 million in mortgage loans through the TSAHC program. This is his first year to receive an award as a top three TSAHC loan officer. Based in Friendswood, Jake West serves home buyers statewide.

"By design, the TSAHC programs meet the housing needs of low-income families and underserved communities," said West. "Gateway's mission is to strengthen families and communities. Those two ideals go hand in hand to make a great partnership."

"These two gentlemen are a testament to Gateway's commitment to strengthen families and the communities we serve," said Steven Plaisance, President of Mortgage Banking at Gateway. "I am proud of them for helping families, who otherwise might not have been able to afford a home, find the right mortgage product to fit their needs."

TSAHC provided more than $2.7 billion in mortgage loans and $79 million in down payment assistance to home buyers this past year. Additionally, 3,064 families accessed a Mortgage Credit Certificate, providing them with annual savings at tax time.
