Her autobiographical essay about growing up visually impaired and later working at a summer program for the blind and visually impaired was published in the university textbook, "Racism and Sexism: A Collaborative Study," by Kendall Hunt Publishing, in 2004. Ringler currently serves on the board of directors for the nonprofit STEMM & Cancer Healthy Equity Foundation.
