Wipfli Wins Groundswell's Give Better Challenge, Emphasizing Corporate Philanthropy and Employee Engagement

Groundswell, the innovative platform transforming corporate philanthropy, is thrilled to announce Wipfli as the winner of the inaugural Groundswell Give Better Challenge. Held from Giving Tuesday, November 28th, through December 4th, this challenge inspired companies to ignite a spirit of giving and community involvement among their employees.

The Groundswell Give Better Challenge was designed to encourage companies to leverage Groundswell's unique functionalities to foster creative and meaningful charitable activities. Participants employed various strategies to motivate and inspire their workforce, ranging from inter-departmental challenges to special volunteer events.

Wipfli, a top 20 advisory and accounting firm, distinguished itself by achieving the highest employee engagement during the competition. Their innovative approach to employee-driven philanthropy and their commitment to community engagement were instrumental in their victory. Throughout 2023, Wipfli associates made 5,832 donations totalling $629,355.

Strong social impact programs are critical in industries like accounting, where competition for scarce talent are heating up. According to America's Charities Snapshot of Employee Research, 70% of employees say it is imperative or very important to work where culture is supportive of giving.

As part of their reward, Wipfli received a $5,000 charitable grant from Groundswell. Additionally, five deserving employees from Wipfli were randomly chosen to each receive a $1,000 charitable grant, further cultivating their culture of giving.

"We're thrilled our associates are able to make a difference through Groundswell's giving platform," said Durward Ferland, Wipfli partner and president of the Wipfli Foundation. "We could not have won the Give Better Challenge without considerable effort and buy-in from across our firm. It's a testament to the value we place on giving back to the communities where we live and work."

Groundswell CEO, Jake Wood, commented on the challenge's success, "The Give Better Challenge was not just about competition; it was a call to action for companies to embrace a culture of generosity and community impact. Wipfli's outstanding participation exemplifies what it means to integrate corporate social responsibility into the core of business operations. Their victory is a testament to the power of collective action and the spirit of giving."

The challenge underscores Groundswell's commitment to revolutionizing corporate philanthropy by providing a modern, inclusive, and efficient platform for employee giving. By facilitating such initiatives, Groundswell continues to empower companies and their employees to make a tangible difference in their communities and beyond.
