MONTREAL, Dec. 31, 2023 /CNW/ - The Montreal Port Authority (MPA) invites the media to have a front-row seat to welcome the first ocean-going vessel of the year to reach the Port of Montreal. On this occasion, the MPA Interim President and CEO Geneviève Deschamps will award the Gold-Headed Cane to the ship's master and crew. The year 2024 marks the 185th anniversary of this ceremony, a tradition that commemorates the city's rich maritime heritage.
