Charlie and Luna take the top spots for Top 10 dog names in North America for this year.

TORONTO, Dec. 28, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Top 10 male and female dog names in North America for 2023 have just been announced by DNA My Dog, a leader in canine genetic testing. Over 65 million households in the United States proudly call themselves dog parents and using its extensive testing records, DNA My Dog has compiled this year's most popular names for those furry friends.

"Over 86% of dog parents consider their dogs to be part of the family, so it comes as no surprise that some of the top dog names this year also claimed spots on 2023's most popular baby names list," said Mindy Tenenbaum, CEO of DNA My Dog.

Three trends have played a major role in the pet names that made the list this year?families choosing names inspired by nature, classic names that just never get old, and names that are traditionally for people.
"Over 86% of dog parents consider their dogs to be part of the family, so it comes as no surprise that some of the top dog names this year also claimed spots on 2023's most popular baby names list," said Mindy Tenenbaum, CEO of DNA My Dog.

Here are where the most popular dog names landed this year:
