Achievement unlocked: Gamer DrLupo and Build Against Cancer aim to raise $25M for St. Jude

At this year's Build Against Cancer livestream event, content creator DrLupo announced a new goal for Build Against Cancer: to reach $25 million raised by 2033 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®. DrLupo and his clan of content creators made the announcement during the 6th annual Build Against Cancer, a two-day livestreaming event held on the St. Jude campus.

"We are delighted to once again host Build Against Cancer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital," said Richard C. Shadyac Jr., president and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "This new pledge is a huge step to accelerate the ongoing efforts by St. Jude to help more of the 400,000 children around the world with cancer and other life-threatening diseases each year. We are forever grateful for DrLupo and MrsDrLupo for their innovative fundraising and dedication to the kids of St. Jude."

Build Against Cancer has already raised $14.5M and is expected to reach $25M handily by 2033. In recognition of this commitment, a space in the newest St. Jude campus housing facility, The Domino's Village, will be named in honor of Build Against Cancer and GCX, a content creator community event. DrLupo got his introduction to St. Jude through a GCX Charity Marathon in 2017. The Domino's Village opened in October 2023 and is a six-story housing facility with 140 units for both short-term and long-term stays by patients and families.

"As always, we're honored to be at St. Jude for a chance to be part of something bigger than ourselves," said DrLupo. "Reaching $25M by 2033 is easily achievable when we combine our communities! Gaming consistently shows that coming together for good, showing selflessness and generosity, and having fun while doing it is possible. That's what we try to capture for every Build Against Cancer."
