Hexion Awarded EcoVadis Silver Sustainability Rating

Hexion Inc. announced today that EcoVadis, a global sustainability ratings provider, awarded Hexion silver-medal status for its sustainability commitment and results. The award recognizes companies that have demonstrated outstanding sustainability performance, and a Silver Medal places Hexion in the 89th percentile of all rated companies.

EcoVadis is a leading global standard for business sustainability ratings, evaluating more than 85,000 companies globally. EcoVadis ratings are based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

The EcoVadis rating is the latest in a series of notable sustainability achievements for Hexion, including achieving International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification at Hexion's Baytown, Texas site. Earlier this year, Hexion was also named an ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Sustained Excellence in Energy Management. In addition, since 2021, Hexion has been committed to the UN Global Compact Corporate responsibility initiative and its principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption, and has reported annually on its progress.
