Calix Evolves Operations Cloud So Broadband Providers Can Easily Expand Into New Markets While Delivering Incredible Subscriber Experiences

Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) today announced new ways for broadband service providers (BSPs) to cost-effectively deploy and manage high-margin managed services and the underlying end-to-end network using the Calix broadband platform and Calix Operations Cloud. By taking advantage of the latest automation and real-time predictive analytics capabilities in Operations Cloud, BSPs will be able to streamline migration to new technologies, enable seamless sharing of insights between different systems and services, and simplify the creation and support of new managed services with automated system provisioning and enhanced network visibility.

By leveraging Operations Cloud, BSPs such as Mississippi-based Tombigbee Fiber are saving on operating expenses (OPEX) by reducing mean-time-to-repair by up to 75 percent while deploying managed services that expand their business across multiple markets. Because the growing array of Calix managed services are fully integrated on the Calix platform, operations teams can use the same Wi-Fi systems, cloud services, and workflows to serve markets including single-family homes (SmartHometm), community and government (SmartTowntm), business (SmartBiztm), and multi-dwelling units (SmartMDUtm).

The latest enhancements to Operations Cloud will provide the network insights and automation capabilities that position BSPs to quickly bring Calix managed services to market more efficiently and at a lower cost. New capabilities will enable BSPs to:

"How we respond to unexpected network outages is a key factor that shapes our subscriber satisfaction scores?it's when our subscribers need us the most," said Chris Thompson, network technician at Tombigbee Fiber. "By adopting Calix Operations Cloud and taking advantage of its breakthrough network visibility and alarm notifications, we've been able to reduce average mean-time-to-repair following a network outage from 6 hours to just 1.5 hours. By getting deep visibility across the end-to-end network via Operations Cloud, we can address issues quickly and efficiently, which means we're rolling fewer trucks, slashing OPEX by up to 75 percent, and getting our subscribers back online faster than ever before."

"Calix is partnering with BSPs to help operations teams bring high-margin managed services to market by making technology migration and service provisioning smarter, faster, and more efficient using Operations Cloud," said Shane Eleniak, chief product officer at Calix. "By transforming broadband operations with deep insights, predictive analytics, and automation technologies, BSPs can revolutionize how they manage their network and serve their subscribers, providing the springboard to launch into new markets and communities, growing their business and the value they deliver to subscribers."

ConneXions attendees can check out Operations Cloud at the Innovation Showcase at the Wynn in Las Vegas until October 17.
