STEMCELL Technologies Releases "Toward Sustainable Science" Report


STEMCELL Technologies, Canada's largest biotechnology company, is releasing its first annual sustainability report today. The report, entitled Toward Sustainable Science, provides a comprehensive look at STEMCELL's environmental, social, and governance performance over the company's 2023 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023).

"As a company of Scientists Helping Scientists, we know we have a leadership role to play in protecting the environment and that means embedding sustainability into all our decision-making," said Dr. Allen Eaves, President and CEO, STEMCELL. "This report provides important visibility into STEMCELL's business practices, including what steps we have taken this past year to reduce our environmental impact and how we are supporting the communities in which we live and work."

Highlights of the report include:

This past year, STEMCELL also joined the UN Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. This includes a commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and upholding the Ten Principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

"In addition, STEMCELL is taking meaningful actions centered around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, including building relationships with suppliers, customers, and partners informed by STEMCELL's dedication to the health and well-being of both the environment and people," said Dr. Eaves. "STEMCELL is also giving back to our communities through supporting environmental conservation, cancer research, and education programs that inspire the next generation of scientists and science-related professionals."
