Handlery Donates $10,000 to CHLA Hospitality Foundation

The Handlery Foundation has donated $10,000 to the California Hotel & Lodging Association Hospitality Foundation's scholarship program, a gift that will support the education of the next generation of hospitality leaders.

The Handlery family has been an active member of the California Hotel & Lodging Association Hospitality Foundation (CHLAHF) for two generations with Handlery Hotels President Jon Handlery serving as a member of the CHLAHF Board and as a member of CHLA's Board of Directors.

"There are few greater opportunities for all hoteliers than ensuring a strong next generation of hospitality leaders," Handlery said. "Providing funds for CHLAHF and its outstanding scholarship program is our way of paving the way for future colleagues."

"Jon Handlery and his family's annual contributions are career-makers for our students and for California hospitality," said Michael Pace, CHLAHF's Chair and General Manager at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins hotel in San Francisco. "Thank you doesn't fully convey the impact these funds have. But on behalf of CHLAHF ? thank you."

Support for CHLAHF, totaling more than $2 million in the past decade, has secured the future for hundreds of scholarship recipients. The Hospitality Foundation awarded scholarships in 2023 totaling $169,000 to 55 students, who represented 11 hospitality programs.

CHLAHF provides funding and assistance to individuals studying hospitality and the California institutions that offer hospitality training and related activities to further research and knowledge of hotel management.
