Media Invitation - Tabling of the follow-up report on the Public Inquiry Commission on relations between Indigenous Peoples and certain public services in Québec: listening, reconciliation and progress (Viens Commission)


QUÉBEC CITY, Sept. 27, 2023 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Ombudsman Marc-André Dowd will release his first follow-up report on the Public Inquiry Commission on relations between Indigenous Peoples and certain public services in Québec: listening, reconciliation and progress (Viens Commission).

The hybrid media conference will be held at around 10:45 a.m. (after the report has been tabled by the President of the National Assembly):

Journalists can obtain the report UNDER EMBARGO at the media briefing that will be held between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.:

Claude Dussault, Deputy Ombudsman, Public Integrity, User Services and Special Mandates, as well as Marie-Claude Ladouceur, Manager, Special Mandates and Investigations, and all the members of the Québec Ombudsman's Indigenous Affairs team, will be on hand to answer any technical or contact questions.

Please note that simultaneous interpretation from French to English and from English to French will be offered on site and on the ZOOM platform for the media briefing and conference.

The report will be available on the Québec Ombudsman web site (protecteurducitoyen.qc.ca) on October 4, 2023, after it has been tabled by the President of the National Assembly, at around 10:15 a.m.
