MONTREAL, Sept. 18, 2023 /CNW/ - Finance Montréal is proud to invite media representatives to the 10th edition of the Canada FinTech Forum, an international event from September 25 to 27 at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal. Presented by Portage, this exclusive gathering at the crossroads of finance and technology attracts more than 1,200 participants each year from major financial institutions, technology companies, venture capital and private equity firms, and start-ups.

The Forum will kick off with a panel moderated by Paul Desmarais III, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sagard, at the opening dinner, which will also include Deborah K. Orida, President and Chief Executive Officer of PSP Investments, Frank Bisignano, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fiserv, Anthony G. Ostler, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Bankers Association, and Alexander Mohelsky, Leader, Technology Strategy and Chief Innovation Officer, Financial Sector Advisory Services, EY Canada.

Over the next two days, renowned fintech start-up leaders such as Simon De Baene of Workleap, Christine Day of Questrade, JD St-Martin of Lightspeed, Philip Fayer of Nuvei and Yves-Gabriel Leboeuf of Flinks will take part in interactive panels and conferences on the latest global trends. Quebec's Minister of Cybersecurity and Digital Technology, Éric Caire, will also give opening remarks.

The Forum will unveil new data on the fintech ecosystem in Quebec. In 2022, Quebec-based fintechs raised a total of 691 million Canadian dollars in 38 rounds of financing. Excluding indirect jobs, Quebec-based fintech companies employ nearly 22,000 people in Canada, and more than 70,000 abroad.
