Boil water advisory for the Saint-Hubert and Vieux-Longueuil boroughs as well as for the municipalities of Boucherville and Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville


Do not use tap water without bringing it to a rolling boil for at least one minute

LONGUEUIL, QC, Sept. 1, 2023 /CNW/ - 4:15 p.m. - Ville de Longueuil has issued a boil water advisory for the Saint-Hubert and Vieux-Longueuil boroughs as well as for the municipalities of Boucherville and Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville. This measure is necessary due to laboratory results which indicates the presence of E. Coli bacteria in the water mains.

What must you do?

You must use tap water that has previously been boiled to a rolling boil for one minute, or bottled water, for all of the following uses until an advisory to the contrary is issued:

Throw away ice cubes (don't forget the refrigerator tanks), beverages and food prepared on August 31, 2023 with unboiled tap water.

If your home is equipped with a water treatment device, you must follow the above steps unless it is a household water purifier designed to disinfect the water. Devices such as water softeners are generally ineffective at removing microorganisms.

Serviced schools, enterprises, businesses and institutions

Turn off all water fountains and post notices near other taps where water is still available.
