Addressing Health Disparities: Seventh Balance Receives Grant for Latinx Wellness Program

FREDERICK, Md., Aug. 25, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Seventh Balance, a pioneering lifestyle medicine practice focused on addressing the complexities of Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome (IBS), is proud to announce its selection as the recipient of the prestigious "Inmersión VITAL: Renovando Salud Para la Mujer Latina" grant. This grant is a collaborative effort between Build IT Up, LLC (BIU) and Dia de la Mujer Latina, Inc (DML), a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing social determinants of health within the Latinx community. The aim of this grant is to provide lifestyle medicine education to the Latinx Community in Frederick, Maryland and its surrounding areas to address social determinants of health measures.

For over 26 years, Dia de la Mujer Latina, Inc (DML) has championed the cause of enhancing health outcomes within the Latinx community by addressing social determinants of health. In pursuit of preventive measures to alleviate mental and lifestyle burdens contributing to poor health, DML has chosen Seventh Balance to lead the "Inmersión VITAL: Renovando Salud Para la Mujer Latina" program. This 90-day pilot initiative is designed to create a safe and culturally accessible environment for educating women on self-esteem and intentionality, stress management, movement, detoxification, nutrition, and sleep restoration.

The program will be delivered, starting August 28th -November 16th, with collaboration from esteemed partners, including:

1. Summit Nurse Consulting, LLC: A mobile private medical practice offering adult and pediatric primary and urgent care. Led by Ms. Sophia Wilmot, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience.
2. Psicosanap, LLC: A private integral coaching practice founded by Ms. Rosana Pedreañez, a Venezuelan native and an expert in Latinx community engagement.
3. Dr. Yuliett Liscano: A Clinical Psychologist and Venezuelan native specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy, bringing invaluable emotional and mindset support to the program.

Additionally, the Frederick Maryland Department of Housing will provide transportation services to program participants, and the C. Burr Artz Public Library has generously provided the venue for the program.

The visionary leadership of Dr. Castiblanco, a Colombian native and a highly accomplished Immunologist with 13 years of biomedical experience, has been instrumental in Seventh Balance's success. Dr. Castiblanco's dedication to inspiring women to prioritize their health and pioneering transformative solutions has positioned her as a revered figure in the fields of health, wellness, and technology.
