Dr. Sanan earned his medical degree from the prestigious seven-year accelerated medical program at Boston University and then underwent a five-year residency in head and neck surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, which ranks among the top ten in the country. After completing his residency, Dr. Sanan was chosen as Stanford University's sole Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellow, where he also trained residents and medical students.

Dr. Sanan is dual-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
