Pastor Lays Out Five Daily Habits that Can Lead to Greater Spiritual Maturity

New book contains 12 weeks of real life stories, devotions, and prompts to help develop spiritual habits

HOUSTON, Texas, June 26, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Author Roger Nelmes shares what he calls "The Twelve," twelve minutes in five spiritual disciplines: worship, prayer, devotion, journaling, and encouraging others, to help readers build spiritual strength.

In "The 12: Building Habits that Lead to Spiritual Maturity," Nelmes begins each of the 12 weeks of lessons with a short story and summary of various Biblical principles. The daily pages then provide suggested scripture readings, worship songs, and space for journaling and recording prayers. The Sunday pages include weekly reflection and space to take notes while attending a church worship service.

"The five simple daily tasks highlighted in my book will help Christians get off the up and down cycle of passive faith," said Nelmes, "and allow them to start living up to their true potential, the way God intended."

Nelmes states he believes the underlying cause for struggle in the believer's life is the lack of spiritual discipline. He hopes to connect with readers with personal real life stories and teach the basic core values and practices of Christianity while inviting engagement with simple daily prompts to grow their faith.

"With so many things fighting for our attention, building our faith often gets forgotten," said Nelmes. "Until you take your last breath, God's plan for you is not finished. Take advantage of the tools that he has laid out for you and start to reap spiritual success."
