Mr. Alan D. Schwartz Accepts the Prestigious Navy SEAL Foundation Patriot Award on behalf of Guggenheim Partners at the 2023 NSF Los Angeles Evening of Tribute

The Los Angeles event raised $ 2 million to support the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Community and its Families.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., June 22, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On June 1st, nearly 500 executives, philanthropists, patriots and heroes gathered at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for the Navy SEAL Foundation's 2023 Los Angeles Evening of Tribute.

The unforgettable event was created to recognize the courage, commitment and sacrifices of the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community while raising funds to support the Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF), America's premier nonprofit organization supporting them. Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. and TRX® presented this year's event, which raised $2 million for critical programming to support U.S. Navy SEALs, their families, and the families of the fallen.

After a lively welcome reception, the doors to the Beverly Wilshire Ballroom opened, and guests were seated. The program began with the presentation of the Colors by the West Los Angeles Scout Troop 50, followed by a beautiful performance of our national anthem by saxophonist Mike Phillips.

Jack Daly, Navy SEAL Foundation board member and owner and CEO of TRX®, greeted guests and welcomed Robin King, CEO of the Foundation, to the stage for opening remarks.

Retired SEAL and Medal of Honor Recipient Command Master Cheif Britt Slabinski presented the 2023 NSF Patriot Award to Guggenheim Partners for their unwavering support of our nation's veterans through their Guggenheim Invests in Veterans Everyday (GIVE) strategy and their Veterans Transition Assistance Program. Executive Chairman Alan Schwartz accepted the award on behalf of Guggenheim and shared remarks.

"Guggenheim Partners is proud of its commitment to supporting veterans and service members of the U.S. Armed Forces, which makes this recognition by the Navy SEAL Foundation an honor for the firm and myself," Schwartz said. "The work of the foundation is vital, and we need to continue to find different ways to thank and support the courageous and self-sacrificing men and women of our military for all that they do for us."

Chris Irwin, retired SEAL and NSF's Communications Director, delivered an inspiring tribute to the members of NSW who are no longer with us.

After dinner, guests heard powerful testimony from Gold Star and Surviving Family member Barrett Bourgeois, son of CAPT Brian Bourgeois, who died while training in December 2021.

The evening's keynote address was delivered by Echelon Front CEO, New York Times best-selling author, and retired SEAL Jocko Willink. His remarks were the capstone to an incredible gathering.
