NEW YORK, June 14, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pop culture LGBTQ+ site Queerty announced today the 50 honorees it will profile in its sixth annual Pride50 tentpole and in-person celebration. The profiles and event honor 50 acclaimed individuals who Queerty journalists and readers are particularly proud of this season.
This year's honorees constitute a diverse range of LGBTQ+ people and their allies who have not only achieved professional breakthroughs, but have stood up for the community, made themselves role models, and given us all a reason to be proud in an otherwise challenging time.
Queerty is releasing one profile per day for 50 days until June 29 at Queerty.com/Pride50.
Live Event in New York City
On June 12, Queerty will bring together activists, actors, authors, and figures in the LGBTQ+ community to recognize these 50 trailblazing individuals. Hosted by RuPaul's Drag Race star Kandy Muse, the event will also honor two special guests: Acclaimed Broadway choreographer and director Jerry Mitchell will receive the Pride Icon Award and Michael Urie (Ugly Betty, Shrinking, Single All The Way) will be honored with the Catalyst Award.
The evening will also include performances from Kandy Muse and Grammy-nominated artist Mykal Kilgore and a DJ set from New York's Ty Sunderland.
