Liberty Tire Recycling Announces 2023 Earth Day Initiative to Donate 5 Million Pounds of Rubber Mulch to Charitable Organizations

Liberty Tire Recycling, the premier provider of tire recycling services in North America, today announced an Earth Day initiative to give away five million pounds of recycled rubber mulch to charitable organizations within the next twelve months. This effort is part of Liberty Tire Recycling's ongoing commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Working with its retail partners, Liberty will donate rubber mulch across the United States and Canada. Five million pounds of rubber mulch can cover more than 100 playgrounds, allowing tens of thousands of children to play on the market's safest playground surface for years to come.

"We are excited to announce this initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and making a positive impact in our communities," said Thomas Womble, Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Tire Recycling. "This Earth Day, we are proud to be taking action to support the environment by diverting end-of-life material from landfills and repurposing it into a useful product for charitable organizations."

Rubber mulch is an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional wood mulch and is made from recycled tires. It provides a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution for landscaping and playgrounds, while also preventing end-of-life tires from ending up in landfills.

"We believe it is important to give back to the communities where we operate, and to support organizations that share our commitment to sustainability," said Womble. "By donating five million pounds of rubber mulch, we hope to make a positive impact in the lives of those who benefit from these charitable organizations, while also promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility."

The Earth Day initiative is just one example of Liberty Tire Recycling's ongoing commitment to ESG initiatives. The company has a long history of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and a dedication to finding innovative solutions for repurposing end-of-life materials and reducing its environmental footprint.
