New Hire Brings 30 Years of Experience of Veterans and Dementia Care to Parkwood Home Care

Parkwood Home Care's newest hire, Carol Conrad, brings 30 years of experience in veterans and dementia care. With her extensive background and passion for providing quality assistance to seniors, Carol is the perfect person to support Parkwood Home Care's Veterans CARE and Dementia CARE programs.

As the Registered Nurse Educator, her duties will include educating each caregiver about the special care needed for dementia care and the geriatric population. Her goal is to connect with each caregiver and give them the support and training they need while helping to ensure that patients receive the quality attention they deserve through Parkwood's Veterans CARE and Dementia CARE programs.

Carol's 30 years of veterans and dementia care experience makes her the perfect person to provide training to caregivers for Parkwood Home Care's Veterans CARE and Dementia CARE programs. Her impressive resume includes degrees from Mount Saint Vincent University (BSc), St. Martha's (RN), and St. Francis Xavier University (BScRN) along with additional certifications in Palliative Care, Dementia Care, and a National Certification in Geriatric Nursing. Her career started at the Halifax Infirmary before she moved to Long Term Care at the Veterans Memorial building. As a recognized Dementia Educator within the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, Carol has returned to her true passion of providing elderly patients with exceptional long-term care.
