Media Invitation - SPECIAL REPORT BY THE QUÉBEC OMBUDSMAN - UNDER TUTORSHIP BUT VULNERABLE NONETHELESS - Protect the assets of incapable adults under private protective supervision regimes


QUÉBEC CITY, March 27, 2023 /CNW/ - On Thursday, March 30, 2023, Québec Ombudsman Marc?André Dowd will release the findings of his special report titled Under tutorship but vulnerable nonetheless: protect the assets of incapable adults under public protective supervision regimes. This report stemmed from an investigation into the Curateur public's supervision of private tutors' patrimonial administration of the people they represent and, notably, their effectiveness in detecting cases of financial abuse and in intervening if necessary.

The news conference will take place at 11 a.m. at the Evelyn-Dumas Room 1.30 of the Pamphile-Le May Building (1035, rue des Parlementaires). It will be live-streamed at assnat.qc.ca.

That morning, between 9:15 and 10, journalists who are members of the Press Gallery (or who have obtained accreditation from it) will be able to obtain a copy UNDER EMBARGO at the Evelyn-Dumas Room 1.30 of the Pamphile-Le May Building (1035, rue des Parlementaires). Deputy Ombudsperson ? Institutional Affairs and Prevention Hélène Vallières, and the people in charge of the investigation, will be there to answer any technical or content questions.
