COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, March 24, 2023 /CNW/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 353 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,326,133*
• 10 new deaths, for a total of 18,264 deaths, i.e.;
• 3 deaths in the last 24 hours,
• 4 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
• 3 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago;

NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.

• 1,653 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 1,238 hospitalizations, including 386 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 29 compared to the previous day;
• 78 new entries,
• 107 new discharges;
• 28 people in intensive care, including 17 due to COVID-19, which remains stable compared to the previous day ;
• 4 new entries,
• 4 new discharges;
• 6,296 samples conducted on March 22;
• 326,478 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 275,590 positive: 28 declared for yesterday, including 26 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

• 3,298 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,977,702 doses received by Quebecers.
