COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, March 21, 2023 /CNW/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
447 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,324,858*;
9 new deaths, for a total of 18,244 deaths, i.e.;
1 death in the last 24 hours,
3 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
5 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago;
NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.
1,562 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
1,268 hospitalizations, including 404 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 28 compared to the previous day;
201 new entries,
173 new discharges;
28 people in intensive care, including 15 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 3 compared to the previous day;
10 new entries,
13 new discharges;
4,832 samples conducted on March 19;
326,312 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 275,443 positive: 33 declared for yesterday, including 25 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
1,767 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,968,197 doses received by Quebecers.
