COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, QC, March 3, 2023 /CNW/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 443 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,317,795*;
• 10 new deaths, for a total of 18,124 deaths, i.e.;
• 0 deaths in the last 24 hours,
• 1 death that occurred between two and seven days ago,
• 9 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago;

NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.

• 1,838 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 1,326 hospitalizations, including 444 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 1 compared to the previous day;
• 98 new entries,
• 97 new discharges;
• 34 people in intensive care, including 17 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 3 compared to the previous day;
• 9 new entries,
• 6 new discharges;
• 6,501 samples conducted on March 1;
• 325,254 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 274,489 positive: 43 declared for yesterday, including 37 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

• 2 202 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,930,633 doses received by Quebecers.
