Arrive Home's Tai Christensen Takes Over as Host of California Mortgage Bankers Association's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Podcast

Tai Christensen, Co-Founder and Chief Diversity Officer of Arrive Home, is the new host of the California Mortgage Bankers Association's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Podcast.

The monthly podcast, available on the CMBA's YouTube channel, features industry thought leaders who are actively working to promote DE&I within the mortgage space.

Christensen is a vocal advocate for the need to encourage a more diverse pool of talent to pursue careers in mortgage, citing powerful statistics that point to the fact that greater diversity within the profession can help more people of color obtain a home loan.

"As someone who has dedicated much of their career to helping bridge the homeownership gap in underserved communities, I am eager to participate in conversations about how industry leaders can effectuate this much-needed change," Christensen said. "I am thrilled to be taking over the podcast and furthering discussions about the future of the mortgage profession."

Last year, Christensen co-founded Arrive Home, a national down payment assistance facilitator offering emerging credit solutions for responsible borrowers in underserved communities. The social enterprise aims to increase homeownership across the country, focusing specifically on minority homeownership by working with governmental entities, mortgage lenders, and nonprofit groups to offer innovative and diverse mortgage products.

Christensen, who has spent two decades in mortgage, also serves as Chair of the American Mortgage Diversity Council and is a board member of AXIS Lending Academy, a non-profit that focuses on providing the mortgage lending industry with a more diverse talent pool of job candidates. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2023 National Mortgage Professional Women of Inspiration Award, the 2022 SUCCESS Magazine Emerging Entrepreneur Award, the 2022 Progress in Lending Thought Leader Award, and the 2021 Mortgage Professional America Elite Women Award.

Former CMBA DE&I Podcast Host Shashank Shekhar, CEO of InstaMortgage, said Christensen is the perfect person to take over the role of podcast host.

"Tai's dedication to helping underserved borrowers speaks volumes about her commitment to promoting equal opportunities in home lending, something that extends not only to the consumer, but also to the professionals who work in mortgage," Shekhar said. "I am honored to pass the torch to Tai and cannot wait to see where she takes the conversation. I am certain her efforts will go a long way to propelling the industry forward."

Shekhar is featured as the first guest on Episode One of Christensen's podcast, which dropped February 17 and can be viewed here.
