Greene Park Capital Launches Senior Living Investment Platform To be Led by Senior Living Executive Kevin Carden

Kevin Carden, a seasoned and respected senior living executive, will work with Greene Park Capital to expand its new senior living platform.

CHICAGO, Feb. 21, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Greene Park Capital, a Chicago-based healthcare real estate investment firm, has announced that veteran senior living executive Kevin Carden will be exclusively engaged by the company to lead its newly formed senior living investment platform.

"Kevin brings to Greene Park Capital the perfect combination of experience to grow our investment activity in the senior living space," Greene Park Capital Co-Founder and Managing Partner Jason Simmers said. "Over the past thirty years, he has originated and/or completed over $1 billion in senior living and healthcare transactions. With his significant experience in operations, investment banking, brokerage and investing in senior living properties, operators and portfolios, he is uniquely suited to help create, and to execute our senior living growth strategy."

Greene Park, which was founded in 2020, intends to concentrate on small-to-mid-sized operators with sophisticated management teams poised for substantial growth, Simmers said.

"With this new business line, we can focus on maximizing value by combining our access to capital and deep investment pipeline that includes strong real estate portfolios and operators," Greene Park Co-Founder and Managing Director Carrie Hiebeler added.

"This is an ideal time to invest in senior living," Carden said. "The industry continues to emerge from the effects of Covid-19 as seniors and their families recognize the necessary and important role that senior living plays in their lives. Meanwhile the pace of new development has slowed significantly, and the aging of America continues to accelerate dramatically."

Carden served as senior vice president acquisitions for REDICO, a real estate investor, and American House, its senior living operating company from 2014 until 2022. Prior to that he was senior vice president corporate finance for Ziegler Investment Banking from 2002 to 2014. Earlier he served as portfolio manager for senior living for the RREEF Funds and was director of acquisitions for Classic Residence by Hyatt, now known as Vi Senior Living. Carden started his senior living career as a nursing home administrator at Manor Care. He earned a BA-psychology from Miami University and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
