COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, Jan. 9, 2023 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
581 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,291,259*;
4 new deaths, for a total of 17,750 deaths, i.e.;
0 deaths in the last 24 hours,
3 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
1 death that occurred more than seven days ago; NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.
2,490 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
Hospitalizations and intensive care: due to a change in methodology, data are no longer compiled on weekends. Thus, the data will be updated from Tuesday to Saturday;
7,135 samples conducted on January 7;
321,203 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 270,903 positive: 63 declared for yesterday, including 51 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
220 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,796,191 doses received by Quebecers.
