COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, Jan. 5, 2023 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
1 217 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,288,481*;
14 new deaths, for a total of 17,714 deaths, i.e.;
0 deaths in the last 24 hours,
14 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
0 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago;
NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.
2,870 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
2,135 hospitalizations, including 734 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 51 compared to December 29th 2022;
711 new entries,
660 new discharges;
57 people in intensive care, including 28 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 7 compared to December 29th 2022;
30 new entries,
37 new discharges;
9,446 samples conducted on January 3;
320,592 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 270,370 positive: 97 declared for yesterday, including 81 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
7,497 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,774,023 doses received by Quebecers.
