COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, Dec. 21, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
1 439 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,275,579*;
16 new deaths, for a total of 17,586 deaths, i.e.;
6 deaths in the last 24 hours,
2 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
8 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago; NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.
3,731 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
2,149 hospitalizations, including 746 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 50 compared to the previous day;
216 new entries,
166 new discharges;
57 people in intensive care, including 32 due to COVID-19, which remains stable compared to the previous day ;
9 new entries,
9 new discharges;
12,842 samples conducted on December 19;
317,718 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 267,818 positive: 167 declared for yesterday, including 152 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
13,190 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,711,484 doses received by Quebecers.
