COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Nov. 16, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 1,037 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,240,569*;
• 54 new deaths, for a total of 17,244 deaths, i.e.;

• 1 death in the last 24 hours,
• 3 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
• 50 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago;

NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day. Otherwise, 48 deaths are added to the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. It is a catch-up in the data entry of deaths that occurred more than 60 days ago.

• 3,428 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 1,726 hospitalizations, including 593 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 42 compared to the previous day;
• 176 new entries,
• 134 new discharges;
• 39 people in intensive care, including 22 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 6 compared to the previous day;
• 11 new entries,
• 5 new discharges;
• 12,090 samples conducted on November 14;
• 309,623 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 260,496 positive: 140 declared for yesterday, including 113 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

• 21,937 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,138,286 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
