Eisenhower Fellowships Announces New Eastern Europe Program for Fall 2023

Calling on ascendant leaders from Turkey to the Baltics, Ukrainian exiles in the region.

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In fall 2023, Eisenhower Fellowships will host a groundbreaking Eastern Europe Program to strengthen democratic governance across the region.

The program will identify and host outstanding leaders from Turkey, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden and exiled Ukrainians across the region.

These ascendant mid-career leaders ages 32-45 from all fields will travel to the United States for a six-week program of individualized meetings with leading experts in their professions.

Eisenhower Eastern Europe Fellows will develop their leadership skills, foster interdisciplinary professional relationships, and launch concrete collaborations of impact when they return home to bolster democracy in the region and better their societies.

With this citizen diplomacy initiative, Eisenhower Fellowships will strengthen its vibrant community of leaders across Eastern Europe united by their unique experience as Fellows at a troubled time in the region.

"The Eisenhower Fellowships program perpetuates Ike's vision that connections across borders and cultures?people learning about and from each other?will advance the cause of peace and progress," said Eisenhower Fellowships Chairman, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates.

The online portal for applications will open on December 1. Candidates for this unique transformational experience can submit their applications directly to EF headquarters in Philadelphia and simultaneously to the Nominating Committees in their home country or neighboring nations where EF is active.

Eastern Europe Fellows will be selected in late May 2023 and will travel on fellowship in October and November. The selection criteria and more details about the program are found here.
