Power Home Remodeling Announces New Veteran Recruitment Efforts

National home remodeler and veteran-ready workplace partners with BreakLine and Department of Defense SkillBridge, enhances Talent Acquisition department to hire more veterans and military spouses

CHESTER, Pa., Nov. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On Veterans Day, Power Home Remodeling ("Power"), the nation's leading exterior home remodeler and Military Friendly employer, announced new endeavors to hire more veteran and military spouse talent, including partnerships with job platform, BreakLine and the Department of Defense's SkillBridge program, in addition to creating an internal veteran recruitment branch.

In order to diversify veteran recruitment pipelines, the home remodeling company is teaming up with BreakLine, a social impact startup that offers professional networking and skills-based training programs to women, people of color, and veterans while directly connecting them with potential employers. The company has recently launched its newest vertical for people with disabilities, BreakLine Transcend.

"The community that Power has built honors the experiences and contributions of veterans while giving them a pathway to continue to achieve at a top-performer level," said Caroline Beaudoin, Director of Customer Success at BreakLine. "Team BreakLine is so thankful for the warm welcome to the Power family and is honored to be a diversity hiring partner. We are committed to connecting Power with the most diverse and elite veterans who we know will be fully and wholly supported by this company in the next chapter of their careers."

The relationship was recently announced internally to employees during the company's Veterans Summit in Austin, Texas. Spearheaded by the Power Veterans Initiative (PVI), the annual summit is designed to foster strong workplace community, showcase the value that veterans bring to the workforce, allow civilians to better understand the military mindset, and align on goals for the future.

At this year's summit, PVI also celebrated the success of additional, newly launched veteran recruitment efforts that further enhance the organization's military talent strategy. This includes the creation of a Military Affairs recruitment branch within Power's Talent Acquisition department and their partnership with DOD SkillBridge ? a program dedicated to connecting transitioning service members with industry partners for a smoother transition back into civilian workforce. In 2022, Power has seen a 40% increase in veteran and military spouse applications, and has almost doubled their veteran and military spouse headcount compared to 2021.

"While welcoming more veterans into our organization remains a priority, you can't attract talent if you can't keep talent," said Vice President of Military Affairs, James Boscia. "At Power, we're committed to being a 'veteran-ready' employer. That means taking an active and authentic approach to building a supportive community where veteran talent can rediscover their sense of purpose and forge deeper bonds, fueling their personal and professional growth."

On Veterans Day and throughout the year, Power continues to support veteran and military spouse employees with a culture built on community, offering benefits such as $3k-$11k in hiring bonuses, paid time off for VA appointments, unique events, and leadership development opportunities.
