COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, QC, Oct. 20, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
1 057 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,219,020*;
10 new deaths, for a total of 16,925 deaths, i.e.;
2 deaths in the last 24 hours,
3 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
5 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago; NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.
3,985 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
2,085 hospitalizations, including 655 due to COVID-19, which remains stable compared to the previous day;
167 new entries,
167 new discharges;
54 people in intensive care, including 31 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 8 compared to the previous day;
9 new entries,
17 new discharges;
13,486 samples conducted on October 18;
301,680 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 253,420 positive: 187 declared for yesterday, including 165 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
26,727 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 21,632,779 doses received by Quebecers.
