COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Oct. 12, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 1 096 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,211,181*;
• 16 new deaths, for a total of 16,861 deaths, i.e.;
• 3 deaths in the last 24 hours,
• 12 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
• 1 death that occurred more than seven days ago;

NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.

• 3,748 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 2,030 hospitalizations, including 595 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 207 compared to the previous day;
• 294 new entries,
• 87 new discharges;
• 52 people in intensive care, including 19 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 13 compared to the previous day;
• 20 new entries,
• 7 new discharges;
• 10,208 samples conducted on October 10;
• 297,912 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 250,084 positive: 294 declared for yesterday, including 253 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

• 21,214 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 21,462,169 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
