Jackson T. Stephens Cup Extends Individual Invitations Ahead of Second Year Event at Seminole Golf Club


The Jackson T. Stephens Cup announced today invitations to the top players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and U.S. Military Service Academies (Army, Navy and Air Force).

Named in honor of the late Jackson (Jack) T. Stephens, the former Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club, The Stephens Cup hosts one the strongest competitions in college golf with every team featured in the Golfstat top-25 rankings. This year's competition, played October 9 ? 12, will be held at the venerable Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida.

The Stephens Cup Tournament Committee is dedicated to expanding opportunities in the game of golf and fostering inclusion among talented golfers. Four HBCUs (Howard, North Carolina A&T, Livingstone College and Florida A&M and Three U.S. Military Service Academies (Army, Navy and Air Force) will be represented at this year's event. These individuals will compete in the stroke play portion of the competition.

"The breadth of collegiate talent competing in the JTS Cup reflects golf's phenomenal growth and promising future. The athletes from U.S. Military Service Academies, and Historically Black Colleges & Universities are top amateurs whose play and dedication are significant to the sport. We are thrilled to have their continued participation in the Cup and wish these bright women and men well in the tournament," stated Warren Stephens, Chairman of The Jackson T. Stephens Cup.

The individuals featured in women's stroke play competition are Marley Franklin (Howard University), Kendall Jackson (Howard University), Jayla Rogers (North Carolina A&T) and Eve Worden (Naval Academy).

Also competing in the in the men's stroke play division are Ian Davis (Florida A&M), Isaac Layne (Air Force Academy), Patrick Mwendapole (Arkansas Pine Bluff), Xavier Proctor (Livingstone College), Keegan Shreves (United States Naval Academy), Dragon Theam (United States Military Academy), and Everett Whiten Jr. (Howard University).

The tournament will feature 54-holes of stroke play followed by 18-holes of match play. The first 54-holes of team stroke play will be used to determine the seeding for the men's and women's field for the final day of match play. Stroke-play medalists will be honored October 11 prior to the start of match play. Tournament week will begin with a practice round and collegiate-am fundraising tournament on Sunday

The three-day competition will be televised live on GOLF CHANNEL. Live broadcasts will take place on each day of official tournament play: Monday, Oct. 10: 4-7 p.m. eastern time, Tuesday, Oct. 11: 3-6 p.m. eastern time and Wednesday, Oct. 12: 3-6 p.m. eastern time.

The Jackson T. Stephens Cup is an annual collegiate golf tournament named in memory of the late Augusta National Golf Club Chairman, Jackson T. Stephens. The tournament is a four-day stroke play-match play event featuring NCAA Division I National Championship-contending men's and women's teams and top players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and United States Military Service Academies. The Alotian Club in Roland, Ark., is the home course for the Jackson T. Stephens Cup and will host the competition every four to five years, alongside other prominent world-class golfing venues.
