COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, Aug. 25, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
966 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,173,563*;
28 new deaths, for a total of 16,306 :
1 death in the last 24 hours,
8 deaths between 2 and 7 days,
19 deaths since more than 7 days;
3,949 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
1,972 hospitalizations, including 662 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 14 compared to the previous day;
134 new entries,
148 new discharges;
44 people in intensive care, including 25 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 3 compared to the previous day;
10 new entries,
7 new discharges;
11,968 samples conducted on August 23;
280,809 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 235,167 positive: 209 declared for yesterday, including 177 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
24,234 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 20,635,767 doses received by Quebecers.
