COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, Aug. 17, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
1 262 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,166,390*;
14 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 16,179 deaths;
4,309 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
2,003 hospitalizations, including 691 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 39 compared to the previous day;
176 new entries,
137 new discharges;
50 people in intensive care, including 28 due to COVID-19, which remains stable compared to the previous day;
6 new entries,
6 new discharges;
13,254 samples conducted on August 15;
277,271 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 232,067 positive: 255 declared for yesterday, including 226 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
17,653 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 20,486,940 doses received by Quebecers.
