New YA Book Celebrates Group of Misfits as They Step into The World with Pride as Children of God and the Universe

Author and former teacher Cynthia L. Winfield publishes 'Sovereign Souls: Whosoever Edition'

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 25, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Each individual's life path tells a different story. In Cynthia L. Winfield's new book, "Sovereign Souls: Whosoever Edition," she shares with the audience how important it is to live for love and joy and to always embrace self-worth. Winfield's book follows a group of seven misfits from various backgrounds as they find their way in the world, rising to reign supreme in their sovereignty over life's obstacles.

Throughout the book, Winfield shares the message of God's inclusive love and illustrates how each character introduced in the story is a child of the God of their understanding, entitled to boundless love, which they share with those around them. Readers will witness the group of teens as they seek guidance, living at risk, on the edge of potential homelessness, being bullied or feeling unaccepted within their communities. As each teen is going through their own hardships, three God-centered adults seek to guide and lead them through these life events.

"I believe my book is relevant today because many individuals may be dealing with similar issues as the characters of feeling unaccepted, disenfranchised in their schools and communities by their judgmental peers," said Winfield. "As my characters find ways to live into their own beingness and to take pride in themselves, despite what society thinks."

"Sovereign Souls: Whosoever Edition" is the first book in a series that allows those in marginalized groups to feel seen and understood. Winfield is working on a curriculum guide to accompany the book to be taught in schools and was inspired by Helen Frost's 2003 novel, "Keesha's House," and a result from Winfield's 2019 book, "Gender Identity: The Ultimate Teen Guide, Second Edition."

Ultimately, readers will see how important it is to embrace their inner self and to not allow society to make them feel that they can't live to the beat of their own drum as a child of God. By the end of the book, the audience will honor the earth, themselves and their community.
