COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, July 22, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 1,898 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,134,683*;
• 15 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 15,849 deaths;
• 7,397 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 2,088 hospitalizations, including 698 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 22 compared to the previous day;
• 196 new entries,
• 218 new discharges;
• 54 people in intensive care, including 30 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 5 compared to the previous day;
• 11 new entries,
• 16 new discharges;
• 15,511 samples conducted on July 20;
• 260,681 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 217,508 positive: 627 declared for yesterday, including 546 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

• 15,688 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 20,251,084 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
