Dovetail + Co acquires historic St. James Hotel as company's first California property

NEW YORK and SAN DIEGO, July 12, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hospitality company Dovetail + Co expands into California with the acquisition of the historic St. James Hotel, a 122-room full-service property in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. The St. James Hotel will be reimagined and renovated, reopening as Palihotel San Diego, part of Palisociety's national collection of unique hotels and residences known for eclectic design, independent spirit, and a hands-on approach to innkeeping.

The St. James originally opened in 1913 as a Victorian, eleven-story hotel that soared over San Diego with stunning, unobstructed views of the city. Today, the stately and storied structure maintains its original two-story neon sign, along with shimmering chandeliers, intricate tin ceilings, stained glass windows, and marble staircases, all hailing from the early 1900s.

As a Palisociety hotel, the St. James will retain its historic charm and dazzling rooftop views. A quick walk from the harbor front, Palihotel San Diego will bring a youthful, design-centric offering to San Diego's hospitality landscape with a preppy, contemporary nautical-inspired personality, new restaurant, and rooftop space.
