COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update
QUÉBEC CITY, May 19, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
626 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,060,045*;
14 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 15,326 deaths;
5,039 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
1,562 hospitalizations, for a decrease of 37 compared to the previous day;
97 new entries,
134 new discharges;
53 people in intensive care, for an increase of 5 compared to the previous day;
13 new entries,
8 new discharges;
12,910 samples conducted on May 17;
209,649 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 171,771 positive: 212 declared for yesterday, including 173 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
14,845 doses administered are added, that is 14,160 doses in the last 24 hours and 685 doses before May 18, for a total of 19,811,415 doses administered in Québec. Outside Québec, a total of 332,282 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 20,143,697 doses received by Quebecers.
