Baker Tilly Appoints Theresa Meiners as Environmental, Social and Governance Leader

Leading advisory CPA firm Baker Tilly US, LLP (Baker Tilly), announces Theresa Meiners, principal and general counsel, as the firm's first leader of ESG and how it manifests inside and outside the organization.

"Theresa is a multi-dimensional leader who skillfully applies her intellect and passion to everything she touches," said Baker Tilly Chairman and CEO Alan Whitman. "With her at the helm of ESG, Baker Tilly will continue to positively impact the future of our people, clients, communities and planet."

As ESG emerges as the preferred framework for companies to transparently report their activities that impact the greater good, Baker Tilly already has a strong story to tell.

"My challenge is to organize and formalize all the incredible ESG work we already do and develop a focused, unified way forward ? taking our work to the next level," said Meiners.

ESG-related elements permeate Baker Tilly and are evident in its overall strategy, its vision of creating the advisory CPA firm of the future, today, and its purpose to unleash and amplify talent.

In her role as general counsel, Meiners has a cohesive view of the interworking of the entire organization. Having those personal connections with a wide range of experts helps her "connect the dots" on all the ESG activities happening internally and with clients. This ability to collaborate and create actionable momentum was evident in her recent experience leading the firm's diversity, inclusion and belonging steering committee and helping drive its strategy and plan.
